TL;DR
- Choose Spreadsheet Center if you want free, no-signup formula exercises right now, plus a large function guide.
- Choose FormulaCamp if you want a structured path that goes beyond formulas: PivotTables, Power Query, Power Pivot/DAX, charts, Python in Excel, and real .xlsx tasks.
These two are the closest in approach: both let you practice in a browser spreadsheet with instant feedback.
Who each is best for
Spreadsheet Center is best for quick, frictionless practice. Its site describes a browser-based live spreadsheet where you type formulas and get instant feedback, 150+ interactive exercises, 500+ function guides and 9 learning tracks, with job-focused exercises for analysts, accountants and interview prep. You can start without signing up, and everything is free for now.
FormulaCamp is best for learners who want a complete course. It has short theory and hands-on tasks with an auto-check on every one, 170 lessons in 16 tracks from Beginner to Expert, a 180-function reference, English and Russian, and downloadable .xlsx tasks you solve in desktop Excel and upload back for checking.
Where Spreadsheet Center is better: it is currently free, needs no signup, and its function guide is bigger (500+ pages vs our 180 functions). Its role-based exercises and interview prep are also a nice fit for job seekers.
Where FormulaCamp is better: breadth of curriculum. Spreadsheet Center's site does not mention PivotTables, Power Query, DAX or Python; FormulaCamp has tracks for all of them. FormulaCamp also supports real-file tasks and Russian. The trade-off: only part of FormulaCamp is free, and the rest needs Pro.
Neither of us has video. FormulaCamp offers a self-issued certificate of completion (not verified by a third party); Spreadsheet Center does not mention certificates on its site.
